PINK POP SPRAY
«Pink Pop Spray» fue una de mis primeras obras realizadas con spray, y para mí marcó un punto de inflexión. Siempre he trabajado desde lo pop, lo descarado y lo cotidiano, pero aquí quise llevarlo un paso más allá: ensuciarlo un poco, hacerlo gotear, sacarlo del marco perfecto.
La Pantera Rosa, ese personaje tan absurdo como elegante, me sirve como excusa para hablar del arte como producto. En lugar de una lata de sopa Campbell’s, como en los homenajes clásicos a Warhol, aquí hay un bote de spray. Mismo envase, nuevo contenido. Una evolución irónica del ícono pop convertido ahora en herramienta de rebeldía urbana.
Esta obra no pretende tener respuestas, pero sí provocar una sonrisa, una duda, porque al final, eso es el arte para mí: una mezcla entre juego, gesto y color.
PINK POP SPRAY
«Pink Pop Spray» was one of my first works made with spray paint, and for me it marked a turning point. I’ve always worked from a pop sensibility — bold, cheeky, and rooted in the everyday — but here I wanted to take it a step further: make it messier, let it drip, pull it out of the perfect frame.
The Pink Panther, that character as absurd as it is elegant, serves as an excuse to talk about art as a product. Instead of a Campbell’s soup can, like in the classic Warhol tributes, here there’s a spray can. Same container, new content. An ironic evolution of the pop icon, now turned into a tool of urban rebellion.
This piece doesn’t aim to offer answers, but rather to provoke a smile, a moment of doubt — because in the end, that’s what art is to me: a mix of play, gesture, and color.
